New album out now in Canada, new tour announced!

“The end result is an album that benefits from lyrics that are at times both sorrowful and spiritual, music that is powerfully uplifting, and a band that sounds refreshed and rejuvenated.” NMC.ca

“There are no shortage of guitar champions out there, but Thornley and his crew bring a renewed spirit and drive to guitar-based rock music in a band setting that might only be rivaled today by Dave Grohl & Co. Big Wreck’s music is smart without being smart-assed… pomp without being pompous.” Gearphoria.com

Fresh off the heels from the release of their new album Ghosts (released June 10th w/ Anthem/Warner), Big Wreck is excited to announce a 2014 Canadian fall tour. The dates will kick off in Edmonton on September 19th at Encore and wrap up in Toronto for two nights at The Danforth Music Hall on October 16th and 17th. Full tour details can be found below and tickets will be available in the tour page/VIP tab on the Big Wreck website.

VIP packages will go on sale tomorrow, June 18th at 11am ET and general onsale will be this Friday, June 20th @ 11am ET.

Ian had this to say about the fall tour, “We are very excited to hit the road and hear these songs grow with the fans. This is still only our 4th studio album, there is still a lot that we want to accomplish, and much of that growth must come from live performance.”

Big Wreck headed into Revolution Studios and Vespa Studios in Toronto to record the 13 new songs that make up Ghosts. The band approached the making of this albumwith a renewed sense of wonder toward the very things that turned them on to rock and roll in the first place. While the album stays true to the driving intensity, booming drum sound and unbridled guitar virtuosity that has always made Big Wreck so appealing, it also explores bold new aural territory which sees the band letting their guard down for the first time to return to the seeds of long forgotten ideas.
Get ready to turn up the amps as Big Wreck take their electrifying new album on tour this Fall!

  1. “Canadian Tour” ends in Quebec? Why does Atlantic Canada continue to get passed over for gigs? Been a fan since ILMO and finally saw the band in Moncton,NB on the Albatross tour. Very disappointed that I won’t get a chance to see them, unless something changes of course. Fingers crossed for an Atlantic Canada date to be added in the future I guess. To the band: please visit our region and take our money in exchange for a night of incredible music!

  2. Hey guys…please dont overlook the Maritimes. I have been waiting to see you again in Moncton since the last tour. Dont make us miss out on the new one!!!!

  3. Big Wreck/Thornley is NOT a sit down show/venue kind if band!! We enjoy the shows best on our feet rocking out!

  4. Hey guys! A lot of comments are saying come to the East coast! I agree! It is like a 10 hour drive from Fredericton, don’t make me do it!! If I could have one concert this year come to the Maritimes it would be Big Wreck! I Thought FredRock was going to try and get you guys to come.. but they announced the trews instead…booo!

  5. Halifax please!! Saw you guys last time you came (Hopefully a venue worthy of you next time! Ian might remember making a comment about feeling like he was in a high school gymnasium?) and a few years ago (Thornley) at the Palace. Great work on the new album!
